So this now may be a teeeeeny bit late, considering it seems that Winter is, now, well and truly on its way. However, if you happen to find it’s a particularly nice fall day, or a few nice days are on their way – then here’s a few ideas of things to do in Fall!
Things to Do in Fall
Apple picking and pumpkin picking are two of the most popular things to do in Fall in Ontario. As soon as the leaves start to turn and the temperature starts to fall, everybody seems to bundle up and get picking.
There are an abundance of farms that open their doors to the public to come and pick pumpkins and apples galore. Many have adorable farm shops where you can fill your boots with pumpkin pie and apple cider, gifts and trinkets!
The best thing to do is when you are here to look up the farms that grow your favourite apples, and the specific picking days for that type.
If you are feeling like you want some beautiful views of fall coloured trees, head over to Dundas Peak.
It is a short hike through flame coloured woodland to an outlook point where I love to take a hot drink in a thermos and just sit in one of the nooks away from the main lookout and read and take in the views, crisp air and autumnal colours.
Saving the best until last, if you can get a booking, and have access to a car, you need to head to the Treehouse in Durham.
Owned and designed by the wonderful Lynne Knowlton, this place is a little slice of heaven. Lynne and the team are so sweet and welcoming and kind, they were the icing on the cake (it was my Birthday, and they even left us a cake!!).
The Treehouse, the Cabin and the bathroom are all separate buildings in close proximity, all equally gorgeous.
Every single detail is tended to and perfect.
Complete with cooking facilities, bbqs and log fires, with a Bali-esque inspiration, you feel like you are in a dream.
Check it out here! You will absolutely NOT be disappointed! In fact, so, so, SO far from it <3
Just relax, bundle up and do absolutely nothing but read and drink wine by the fire.
