Regardless of where you find yourself in Cuba, one of the first and best things to do in Cuba is just to walk around. Walking around and exploring the city is an absolute must. One of the most attractive things about Cuba is how different it is to anywhere else in the world, a hidden gem of the world, so just roaming around the city is a great way to get a feel for the place and the culture.
Varadero
Varadero is a resort type area in Cuba, but the main reason to go there is the beach. It’s 20 odd kilometres of white sands and blue sea – arguably one of the best beaches I’ve been to. It’s a great place to go to get out of the ‘city’ and lie in the sun. Really a stunning a beach I would thoroughly recommend.
Museo de la Revolución & Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabaña
This museum was extremely educational and interesting, especially seeing how different perceptions of events are. It runs through the events of the Cuban revolution told in both English and Spanish. Not only was the content amazing, but visually the building itself is insane, so another thing I would 100% recommend doing. If you want to read a little it more about the museum, just click here.
Morro Castle
A little fun fact fro you; this is where you can find the longest cigar ever rolled.
We didn’t actually go into the castle but walking to it gives you the most amazing views of Cuba. Some of the best we saw when we were out there, so worth the trek to get a nice little Instagram.
Restaurants
So there’s a couple little restaurants I found that I think would be great things to do in Cuba for you and whoever you may or may not be travelling with:
La Guarida
A lovely little spot, with AMAZING food. To take a look, click here.
Chachacha Bar-Restaurante
Another great spot with some really, really good food. Head here to find out more.
