Okay so yes, there are SOOOOO many blogs and guides to places sprawled all over the internet. However, having moved to Toronto, there are a few things I would love to recommend. As well as places that are perhaps under the radar or underrated (in my opinion) that I would love you to experience! The Summer in Toronto is pretty epic, so I’m hoping this list will help if you’re planning a trip soon!
Guide to Summer in Toronto
If you’ve never been to a baseball game, head over to watch the BlueJays.
You can pitch up, no pun intended, and grab a beer, watch the game.
It’s a really fun thing to experience on a Summer’s afternoon or evening before heading to one of Toronto’s infamous patios.
Patio culture is RIFE in Toronto.
Especially during the Summer in Toronto.
Considering half the year is cold and covered in snow, they know how to have a good time and in Summer, the patios are where it’s at.
They’ve just opened a patio at Baro, South American inspired food and a really great vibe.
Or if you want a good party, head over to the Cactus Club patio where it is always popping!
Head over to the island.
Yep! Toronto has an island!
In the middle of the lake.
Just hop on the boat and you can have a fun filled day of chilling on the beach or at the amusement park, the island is your oyster!
Restaurants!
One of the main things I say to people when they ask “How is life in Toronto?” my response is next to always, “the food is GREAT!!”
There are so many culinary goldmines that its hard to choose!
So below I’ve listed just a few of my favourites, as there are far too many to list them all!!
Byblos
My ultimate favourite (so far!!).
Incredible Lebanese/Mediterranean inspired food, guaranteed to send your taste buds on a wild ride. I have never been disappointed!
Everything on the menu is genuinely great!
I always order family style as want to maximise the things I get to eat!
Mamakas
Great greek food! The octopus is insane!! And the cheese with honey and walnuts!
SO good!
Then for dessert the chocolate mousse which is divinely rich and delicious!
Odd Seoul
Asian-Fusion tapas.
Really low key, hole in the wall type place. Dark and super cool!
The food is served in a street food style, so great to just order a bunch of things and a few beers and share.
Planta
They have two venues, one in upscale Yorkville and one on Queen street.
All the food is vegan and so delicious!!! I can’t praise them enough!
I would genuinely eat there every day (also biased, as I am now vegan again).
