Becoming a Digital Nomad
When becoming a digital nomad, it can be hard to know where to start.
Follow the joy, the rest will follow.
Okay, so you have heard about the digital nomads lifestyle. You love the idea of starting your own business, being free to travel and see the world. You really love the idea of being able to call the shots, set your own hours and work when you want to.
Then you ask yourself…
“But, where do I start?”
It can be totally overwhelming, especially if you have, to date, being doing a job that you no longer enjoy.
You have a skillset, but you don’t feel like it’s fully being utilised – the list goes on.
It may sound SO simple, but you start with the joy.
What sparks joy within you?
What do you enjoy doing so much that you could see yourself doing it every day?
Where does your skillset lie?
Is it in sales?
Do you have a gift?
Are you a talented singer?
Or have psychic abilities?
Whatever it is, wherever your skill set lies, that is where you start.
Then you start thinking, okay, well how can I monetise this?
Maybe monetising ideas isn’t your forte. In which case, seek coaches and mentors that can help you shape your passion into a business.
I used to think that turning your passion into your business is a bad idea as putting the pressure of money on something you love can sometimes kill the joy.
Therefore, throughout this process, understand the things that you enjoy that make you feel free. As well as the things you do that you enjoy that will create freedom.
There is a difference.
My love was for dance, but when I tried to make it into a career, I felt the pressure of earning money from it killed my joy.
So now I use dance as a way to burn off steam and feel free.
Where as writing and content and engaging, sparks joy but still creates a feeling of freedom.
What makes you feel joy?
What makes you feel like you are creating a life of freedom?
When considering becoming a digital nomad, start there.
The rest will follow.
Until next time!
