Affiliate Marketing for Beginners
If you’ve been around for awhile, you’ll know that ‘creating a passive income’ is something we’ve talked about a lot. As digital nomads passive income is the goal, enabling you to continue living the way that YOU want. One of the ways that we, and a lot of other people, have been able to achieve this is with Affiliate Marketing. However, when we’ve spoken about it to people before, there’s often a lot of questions. So, we thought why not do a bit of an ‘introduction’ blog post for Affiliate Marketing for beginners.
‘Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting another person’s (or company’s) product. You find a product you like, promote it to others and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make.’
As explained by Neil Patel, within Affiliate Marketing there tends to be two sides: the Merchant and the Affiliate.
The Merchant can be the creator, the brand, the store. Essentially, the Merchant is the one that invented the product.
The Affiliate is the one effectively promotes the product, convincing target individuals to purchase the Merchant’s products.
It’s a fairly simple transaction.
With the rise of influencers, Affiliate Marketing has become huge. You probably see it everyday on Instagram, perhaps even without realising. Thankfully, now with the new advertising laws, influencers should be outlining what is an ad/what is an affiliate link etc. As a result, the audience becomes more aware.
The transaction is all based around sales. If you make no sales as an Affiliate, then you don’t get paid. Simple as that.
Different people go about their Affiliate Marketing in different ways, some being more transparent than others.
Since our start in 2012, we have always worked with SFM (Six Figure Mentors). Therefore, we have always been an Affiliate for them.
There’s a number of reasons why we decided working with them, but crucially;
Six Figure Mentors (SFM) is the leading digital community on the planet in terms of training, products, services and support.
Over the past few years, they have really upped their game with the resources available to their members. As a result, ensuring there’s a whole lot of support for you as you begin this kind of work.
The programme is really focussed on value at the back end and almost by accident they are creating entrepreneurs running their own businesses daily. The product side of the business is awesome and getting better by the day.
The training is unbelievable and far better than anything else you get from courses showing you what to do run by associations, industry organisations or so called ‘social media gurus’.
By focusing on your motivation and giving you the tools to build online businesses, you develop online skills really quickly.
SFM will teach you how to turn traffic into conversions, which can increase your income.
But, if you translate those skills into consultancy or selling products the opportunity becomes even greater.
I do hope that his post gave you a bit of an insight into Affiliate Marketing for beginners.
